Blog? Blog? Blog? Wait a minute. You know what? You’re right! I do have a blog.
Perhaps I should use it.
These Blogs are crazy things. It’s like you actually have to type something in them in order for them to be effective. I don’t remember anyone explaining that to me. It’s kinda like those giga pets or those furbies. Remember them. How cool to think that you could have a pet that actually interacts with you.
I remember when a friend of mine got a giga pet and I thought it would be cool to just keep feeding it. I don’t remember exactly what happened but I don’t think it was a good thing. However the Furby was a whole different ball of wax because it actually began to develop a life of its own. I remember staying the night at my friends house who had received a Furbie as a Christmas present. He was so excited. The Furby was the ultimate pet. You could play with it. Talk to it. Yet, it actually began to talk back. He loved the little guy. I myself was a bit standoffish due to the whole Gremlins movie. But how else are you supposed to react to something that could kill you. Sorry, I digress. Anyway we were having one of those sleepovers that seemed to plaster the walls of my childhood memories when somewhere in the middle of the night I was awakened by the freakishly high pitched voice. Some how that little sucker found his way under my bed and began to talk at night. I guess if you live with a furby than that’s cool but for me, not so cool. I had to change my pants. and sheets.
Years have passed since those traumatic days and if you were to ask me I would’ve told you that I left the world of virtual pets behind me. However, just like the furby and the giga pet I seemed to have found yet another, THE BLOG! It’s always there saying feed me, play with me, type something. Only now I’m playing on a much larger field. It’s like before people never knew if you stopped playing or feeding your virtual pet. You just quit carrying it to high school. But NOW I get emails from folks asking why I’m not updating my blog, why haven’t I added anything. I know what they’re really saying. Hey Jeff, you got this new fangled blog thing and you played with it and made it a priority when it was new but what’s your deal now. Has the new worn off it’s slowly found it’s way under the bed? What kind of an owner are you? Maybe that’s not exactly what they’re saying but I know they’re thinking it. So for all you blog owners out there. For the love of Blog, update the darn things. Can I get a good AMEN? Remember the love and the flair and the gleem in your eye when you first got the deal. It has feelings too you know.
O.K. Just had to get that off my chest.
So for you who reminded me about my virtual pet, thanks for the gentle reminder to update.
