Our new PD170 just came in today. I am pretty jazzed about. However, I’m more jazzed about how we were able to get it.
When I was 18 years old my Grandma in PA passed away. I still remember the day. I remember us spending days at the hospital. I remember how I hated to see her laying on the hospital bed with tubes all over the place. I also remember how my Grandma loved Jesus. I also remember how much my Grandma loved us grandkids.
Too make a very long story short. Many of you know that Brad (our creative director) Joe (one of our management team members) and myself are apart of a team that will be traveling to Ubuana, Brazil in January to spread the love of Jesus. One of my desires was that I would have a nice video camera to take with me on the trip so I can bring Ubauna back to Lifepoint.
So, two weeks ago my dad calls and tells me that while he was in PA recently that he gave a copy of our latest series to his sister Mary Kay. After listening to the series, Mary Kay told my dad that if there was a church like Lifepoint near them that they would be there every week. Wow! She then asked what it would take for her to see what a service looks like. She asked if we had a camera to record our service and send her a copy.
Enter the PD170. After days of researching cameras and calling everyone in the world that has a techie background and knows how to program their DVR, I placed my order. The PD170 arrived today.
What makes this story so amazing is that the money used to purchase the camera was given to Lifepoint from my Aunt. That’s not the coolest part. When she handed my dad a check she said, “Tell Jeff that this is from his Grandma.” Apparently, twelve years ago some money was placed in my Aunt’s care to put away for future years. According to my Aunt she said my Grandma would’ve wanted to support Lifepoint.
Just goes to show you that nothing is impossible for God. Who would’ve guessed that God would use my deceased Grandma to buy me a PD170.
Thank you Grandma
1) It looks like one of the spaceships in the movie 2010.
2) You are on the verge of setting a new record for different ways of spelling “Ubaúna.”
3) I think your Grandma would be quite proud of her grandson, designer jeans and all.
joe, you know jeff can’t spell.
Wow! From one techie to another, I am so jealous, but I know you’ll put that camera to good use. I’m looking forward to you video podcast in the near future. ^^
Its like our own little R2-D2. “Excuse me sir, but that R2-D2 (PD107) is in prime condition, a real bargain”
Thanks for putting this on your BLOG. I think it is important for other people to know how God is working at Lifepoint Church. It just goes to show that God knows all of our needs and even provides for those needs before we ever ask for them. Who would have thought that God knew that there would be a Lifepoint Church 12 years ago and that there would be a need in November 2006 for a camera. It is amazing how God works. I
