Several weeks ago I did a mini-series called “New & Improved!” In this series we talked about how it is possible for us to experience a “NEW YOU!” During this series I bought a bunch of products from Wal-mart that were “New & Improved.” One of the products that I found was Scott’s toilet paper. Yeah, go figure.
Here’s my deal. Somehow I must have brought the Scott’s home and it has found it’s way into the Kapusta bathroom. One small problem. This paper is horrible! It’s rough. It’s thin. It could double as tracing paper. It’s SINGLE PLY! I didn’t know they still made the stuff.
Here’s what I can’t figure out. Who in there right mind would buy this aweful single ply toilet paper when you can get nice, soft, two ply paper for about the same price? Make the upgrade for crying out loud. I have a hard time picturing some guy standing in the aisle at Walmart debating over whether or not he should give up his single ply habit for a two ply reality. That’s ridiculous I know. But, how many people in life are holding on to their single ply existence and afraid to upgrade to a two ply experience.
Still confused? Here’s the deal. Many people find themselves weighing the options of living for Jesus and living for self. On one hand you have what is comfortable, predictable, and ordinary…on the other hand you have what is uncomfortable, unpredictable, and extraordinary. Is it worth giving up what I’m used to in order to gain what is possible. Or better yet, “If I choose to live for Jesus, how do I know if I will like the person I will become?” “Is this new life really gonna be better than my old life?” Those are great questions. The only answer I have is to try it. I think you’ll like it.
Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life and have it to the full.” If you find yourself debating over life with Jesus or life without Jesus just remember that His desire is that your life will be full.” Take the risk. Give up what you are familiar with.
Buy the two ply! You’re gonna like it.

Ken added these kind words on Feb 07 07 at 12:30 pmAre you kidding me? I hate 2 ply soft stuff. If I need to pad my behind for a spanking then I’ll take the Charmin but if I need something to clean where the sund don’t shine then I’ve got to stick with what works best.
The soft stuff is just a poser. One-ply is the real deal. It is like the truth. It may be a little rough but its purpose is to make you better not to make you feel good.
