What are you praying for these days? I’ve learned that the size of my prayers are often times driven by the size of my dreams and the size of my catastrophes. No matter how you slice it the bigger the obstacle the more I seem to pray. I’m sure I should pray the same amount regardless of my circumstances but since this is my blog I guess I can be honest.
Yesterday, while reading the Bible I came across this verse that sat me back on my heels for a moment. Here’s the situation. Jesus is confronted by a desperate dad seeking help for his son who has some serious issues. The dad musters up the courage to ask Jesus if he can heal him. Here it is:
“One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, “Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him…So they brought the boy…“How long has this been happening?†Jesus asked the boy’s father…He replied, “Since he was a little boy. The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can.â€
Did you catch that last line? “IF YOU CAN.”
Check out Jesus’ response:
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?†Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes. The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!â€
What is it today that you are struggling to believe Jesus can do? Believe me when I say this…”Anything is possible.”
Here’s what I’m praying for:
- 20,000 homes that will receive an invitation to our “Real F Word” series.
- For the personal invitations that our people will make over the next few weeks.
- For God to crush our hearts for people who don’t know Him.
- For 1,000 people that will connect with God at Lifepoint.
- For our Baptism service on March 11th.
- For our Lifegroups to explode with enthusiasm and growth.
- For our dream team to grow in numbers so we can handle the growth that God is going to bring.
