Today my heart is breaking. I have experienced many different emotions. From anger and rage to sympathy and sadness. The top headlines today are “Gunman kills 32 in Virginia Tech Rampage” and “Daughter 9, describes preachers slaying“ What is this world coming to? A day like this makes a person rethink their own existence. What is it all about? Does it really matter? Who is to blame for this mess? Is God still up there? If he is up there does he care? Is there anything stable in this world?
Those kind of questions flood my mind. All the while, I had dinner with the most beautiful woman in the world and two friends that still believe in love and for some reason I believe that God does care. I still believe He is there. Tonight a little voice called my name and said, “daddy, you didn’t say good night…you sing me a song…itsy spider…baby bumblebee.” For some reason after dinner and tucking my little guy in bed I am convinced that I am loved and that amidst all the mess of this world that God is still passionately in love with us. How else could I explain that I am passionately in love with my fam.
