Yesterday’s services were amazing. I think I can say that this past week was the most honest talk about relationships I have ever given. The good news is that only a few people got up and walked out in the middle of it. I did have a couple of foot in mouth moments and I’ll let my staff guys point out all my freudian slips. Oops.
Why do we push the envelope and talk about things like we did this past weekend? Great question! A while back we made the decision to tackle the tough subjects of life head on. We won’t be afraid and we won’t back down. Too many people are wrecking their life and the church is just ignoring it. NOT LIFEPOINT! People are looking for answers and truth and we teach them about what the tabernacle looked like. At Lifepoint, our goal in communication is life change. We aren’t trying to make people smarter our goal is to help people become more like Jesus.
By the way, if you thought this weekend was in your face wait until later in the year when we have an entire weekend focusing on Porn. Yes you read that correctly. The pornography industry has outpaced professional football, basketball, and baseball in yearly revenue. Porn is also destroying families and marriages and I can’t stand it. We will not back down from dealing with real life issues.

that was strong stuff, jeff! i was getting so pumped yesterday, and it’s incredible that we have the privilege of communicating the truth of the gospel- to show people what God says about tough subjects so they can walk with the Lord. can’t wait for what’s next!
