I took the day off today…and church was awesome. Daryl, my executive pastor, did an incredible job talking about raising kids. I love the fact that we have a talent pool at Lifepoint that is ten times the depth of churches triple our size. Thanks D for being so passionate about families and raising kids that “scare the hell out of hell.”
This weekend has been pretty chill. I turned the big three one on friday. Does that mean I’m getting old? Today I was given a picture for my birthday of me surfing down the face of a head high wave. It is awesome. I’ll put a pic up here soon. I was also given a surprise birthday party by my wife after a chill day at the beach. I absolutely am stoked about my wife, family, friends, and church. I’ll post a blog soon about life at 31.
Today at church I had the chance to drop in on Tiffany and our elementary team. What an awesome crew. It is people like them that get me all jazzed about ministry. Pastoring a growing church is exciting but what really fires me up are the people who get off their tail biscuits and serve others. It is so easy to forget that the church doesn’t exist for me but that I am the church and I exist for the world. When people “get it” I get excited. Thanks to all our dreamteam. You guys are amazing.
Thanks for sharing part of your day off with us in the back. We always have fun. I am excited to have even more fun with you guys this summer!
