I don’t know who said it but it has stuck with me:  Work as if it all depends on you and pray as if it all depends on God!

It is very easy to sit back and coast in the church world and tell ourselves that if God wants it done than He will just do it himself.  This sounds really nice but when I read scripture I find a God that works through people who aggressively pursue God’s plan.  I don’t ever find God rewarding laziness.

Proverbs 20:4 says, “Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.”

There are natural seasons to ministry.  A good farmer has a grasp on the seasons.  He knows when to plant and when to harvest.

What are the seasons of harvest/growth in your church?  You need to know this because if you aren’t planting several months prior than you will miss a great harvest.
