Capacity

Attention Church Planter! When searching for a facility don’t overlook the capacity question? Will this facility allow us to grow or will it hinder our growth?

Capacity is a funny thing. When you’re full you’re full! You can run at capacity for a few weeks but if you’re not careful you could bust…and it can be messy.  Your facility can be too big and dwarf your attendance or it can be too small and stunt your growth. I am amazed at the amount of church planters that dream too small. When we were searching for a facility we kept our eyes out for a place where we could customize the room and shrink it in the early days and enlarge it as we grow. For us, a middle school gym was the trick.

Never underestimate the power of capacity. It can be the silent killer. Too big=nobody’s here. Too small=too crowded.

What can your facility hold? Will it allow you to grow? Will it hinder your growth?

At our church we are rapidly approuching the need to become very creative to house all programs or face becoming rootbound.
