Session 3: Mac Lake
- The church isn’t dying because of a lack of leadership but because of a lack of leadership development.
- How did Jesus Grow Leaders?
- He had a high confidence in people. Matt 4:19
- Don’t look at people as they are but as they can be.
- He had a high connection with people. John 15.
- Connect with people’s dreams, competencies, direction, etc…
- He had a high confidence in people. Matt 4:19
5 Ingredients of a healthy leadership program:
- Continued Personal Growth–Put resources in people’s hands and see if they devour them.
- Coaching–Matt. 14: Peter tried to walk on water and Jesus asked, “why did you doubt?”
- Cluster Learning–Huddle people up and collaborate.
- Challenge–Luke 10:1
- Conference Learning–take people somewhere that will stretch them.
I think there is a 6th ingredient Jeff.
6th. You must also recruit. You can only advance up what you have in house. Somewhere down the line you must recruit worshipers to church to have future leaders.
I have idea’s to do so and would love to share them with you and Big D
yeah larry but recruit doesn’t begin with a “C”.
Maybe I assumed you knew what I meant. Recruiting as in marketing LifePoint to the outside. Stickers, Posters, You Tube tags and good old word of mouth. Invite your neighbor recruiting
I know we have Pens but there is so much more we can tag our name on other promotional itmes. Brad has a very creative and hip mind and with his talent I think we can really get LifePoint’s name in more area’s that my not otherwise be exposed to us.
Am I missing your point?? If so, please understand I am just trying to help advance LifePoint to the dreams we all have for “us”.
I am sure you and “D” have a game plan and who would know it better than the coaches (You and D) I am just a team member who wants offer suggestions. You never know if you dont ask, right?
Larry,
you took me too seriously. I’m just giving you a hard time.
