I received this as an email from my dad today.  For those of you who know my families story you will appreciate this.  Thanks Dad for being such a great leader and supporter.

Today we remember the 6th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  This was a terrible tragedy in our country and is still fresh in the minds of most Americans.  Our lives changed forever after 9/11.  Our country is not the same and the way we travel and do business is not the same.  You can not turn on the radio or TV today without being reminded about how the tragedy of 9/11 has changed our lives.

On December 7, 1941, our country was also attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor.  If you have ever traveled to Pearl Harbor, you will see the reminders of that attack which occurred 60 years prior to 9/11.  None of us were alive in 1941, but we still know about Pearl Harbor.

I remind each of you today about these two attacks because in both cases the attacks were a surprise, were unprovoked and we were not prepared for the attack.  I say this because today each of us has an enemy who wants to attack our lives.  Unlike Pearl Harbor or 9/11 we know who that enemy is and we know what he wants.  The enemy is Satan and he wants to destroy our lives.  Unlike Pearl Harbor or 9/11 we can prepare for that enemy.  We can pray for one another, we can encourage one another and we can hold one another up daily.  In the last four days I have had the opportunity to talk with Christians who have contemplated suicide, have been hurt by other Christians, who are having marriage problems, who are out of work and have no prospects for a job, who are having financial problems, who are having problems with their kids and who are upset with their church (not Lifepoint).  Yes, Satan is alive and attacking Christians daily.

I encourage each of you to pray for your family, your friends, Lifepoint Church and me.  My request is that God sends people my way so I can be an encouragement to them daily.  I also pray for opportunities so I can be reminded daily who God is and what God has done for me.  As all of you know, it was 20 years ago this month that God brought a tragedy into my life that changed my life for ever.
