SURPRISE!
Technically, we (Michelle and I) are NOT expecting, but we, LIFEPOINT CHURCH, is/are! There is something really unexplainable when you are nearing the end of a pregnancy and you know that life could change at any time. Three times now I have had the privilege of experiencing this in my own family. You know that at any moment you will get the call and drop everything and drive as fast as you possibly can to get to the hospital.
I believe that as a church we should live in a constant state of pregnancy. We should live with a sense of EXPECTANCY.
EXPECTANCY is a word that should describe our churches.
- We EXPECT people to show up so we go the 2nd mile in preparation.
- We EXPECT God to work in hearts so we get out of His way.
- We EXPECT people to bring their disconnected friends.
- We EXPECT people to link up and reach people together.
- We EXPECT to hear stories of life change.
- We EXPECT people to be inspired and change the world.
- We EXPECT kids to get excited about Jesus.
- We EXPECT guests.
- We EXPECT people to be hurting.
- We EXPECT life change.
Expectancy leads to Urgency.
How is the EXPECTANCY level in your church?
Is there any URGENCY?
Thanks, Jeff, for allowing yourself to continually be used of the Lord to stir our thinking and challenge us to the point of doing something about it. I want to live with a sense of expectancy and encourage others to do the same.
I’m EXPECTING with you brother.
Know that you are loved,
