Before all my type “A” readers start correcting my spelling…allow me to explain.

One of the passions of our church is to be generous.  We try to give everything away and if we can’t give it away we sell it for  exactly what we paid for it…sometimes even less. At lifepoint we’ve given away doughnuts, bagels, granola bars, coffee, t-shirts, bibles, ice cream, gas, backpacks, school supplies, books, money to start a church in Brazil, and a bunch of other random things.  Why do we do it???  Because we believe that we serve a God who gives generously and we should do the same.  As they say, the proof is in the pudding.

I believe that one of the tell tale signs that someone has a relationship with Jesus is the generosity they display.  They have a desire to give because God is a giver.  I think that upon entering into a relationship with Jesus generosity is somehow hardwired into our lives.

Paul tells Philemon, “I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from you faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.”

Let it be said of us (lifepoint) that we are the most generous group of people in Wilmington.
