When I said “Amen” something strange happened.I opened my eyes but he didn’t…He began to pray for me. He prayed for my family and my ministry and that God would bless Lifepoint Church and that we would be able to make an impact in Wilmington. I wasn’t prepared for that. Never in a million years did I think that I would have a homeless man praying for me in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in Monkey Junction. After we finished praying we made small talk. During the conversation I notice that his boots were worn and his jacket had holes in it and the zipper was broke. I felt God was telling me to buy him some clothes. First a grilled chicken ceasar salad and now some new clothes. I didn’t know if this was a normal day for him but it certainly wasn’t for me.I asked Stacy if I could get him some warmer clothes for the winter and he said yes. We climbed in Daryl’s truck and headed to Walmart. I can’t begin to tell you how it felt or the looks that we got while walking around together at Walmart. You had mister trendy and grizzly Adams shopping together for work boots, Faded Glory Jeans, Carhartt knock off jacket, socks and a few other items. While we are looking for clothes Daryl rounded up some necessities…toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc…About the time we were checking out my buddy Chad showed up to hang out. As we were walking to the truck Stacy thanked us profusely and then asked me if I wanted to drop him off and see his camp.It was in the woods behind the waffle house…

Ken Row added these kind words on Jan 10 08 at 10:28 pmIs there something significant about the woods behind the Waffle House? The way this story is going, I’m expecting you to say that’s now the location of your church or something.
