Sometimes in ministry you have to call audibles. We had to call a few today.
Every week we talk through the details surrounding our services. We talk about music, videos, transitions, message, announcements, offering, closing, lobby, etc…
It doesn’t matter how well you plan out a service sometimes you have to call an audible.
We planned to have singing during our baptism and show the video on the screens. However, the video wasn’t working and after 30 minutes of trying other options we decided to scrap it.
So we called an audible.
We decided cut the video…but…if we do that then people won’t be able to see…
so we called an audible.
We decided to have drew pick on the guitar during baptisms and cut a song after baptism.
The plan was in play and the service was going well when…
We called an audible.
While singing Glorious One I felt like we were supposed to go ahead and sing Jesus Paid It All, which is the song we had cut so I called an audible.
Audibles don’t happen every week but they aren’t uncommon at Lifepoint.
I think it is important to sweat the details and plan but if you feel that God is moving you in another direction than you need to call an audible.
I’m glad we did!
I heard a girl at starting point say that when she heard Jesus Paid it all she was just touched and started to cry! So good thing you added it!
Jesus Paid it all was exactly perfect cause that’s exactly what He did! I’m so glad we got to sing it!!
that’s one of the biggest things I miss about LP. Going to the LC campus is cool and all but very predictable and albeit a bit boring sometimes.
