We wrapped up the SHATTERED series this past. The series may be over but the service goes on. Tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday have the privilege of catering lunch for two of our local schools that reach out to at risk kids. We decided weeks ago that we wanted to bless the teachers, staff, and administration at Sunset Park Elementary and Lakeside High School.
I had the opportunity last week to meet the Principals of the two schools who just so happen to be married to each other. They are an awesome couple with huge hearts for students. When talking to Tyese Scott-Oates, the principal of Sunset Park Elementary, I asked her what we could do to help and she said, “We need men. We need men who are willing to come by the school on a weekly basis and just read to the kids. You wouldn’t believe what a difference it makes!” WOW! Anybody want to go read?
I am looking forward to blessing both of these schools. Thank you Lifepoint for being the kind of church that loves on our local schools!
