Ring, Ring

Today the phones have been ringing off the hook! Well, maybe not “off the hook” but definitely more than normal. I think it has something to do with a mailer that went out over the past 2 days. Most folks have questions about the church, some don’t like our approach, some want to know if we really are having service this weekend.

Please let me clarify:

Are you having Easer Services? YES, we are having 2 identical services this coming weekend at 9:30am and 11am. They are going to be awesome. Jesus is alive…we’re gonna celebrate!

What were you thinking sending this mailer? Great question! We were thinking…this is funny. Seriously, it has always been our heart to reach out to people who do not know Jesus and have given up on church. We knew that traditional means of promotion probably wouldn’t work. If we sent a mailer that said, “Jesus is Risen” most people would say, “who cares” and then throw it in the trash. A mailer is simply a promotional piece that helps someone take the first step toward coming to church or visiting our website.

Did you intend to be offensive? No. No matter what we send out we always get calls from people who are offended. It is never our goal to offend anyone. If there was a way to remove “Christians” from our distribution list we would, but that is not possible.

Do you really think Satan wants to boycott your chuch?  Yes I do because lives are being changed every week.  We have people who are being freed from addictions.  Marriages are being restored.  Kids are learning about Jesus.  Students are jacked up about living for Jesus.  I think this makes Satan mad.

I am praying that God does something amazing this weekend in the lives of hurting people in Wilmington!
