I’ve found that there are two types of people:

  1. Those who get it done.
  2. Those who make excuses.

This morning I was rocked while reading Pauls words in Eph. 6:20.

One line jumped off the page at me:  “I am in chains now, still preaching…” If anybody had a good excuse to quit or complain it was Paul but he didn’t.

What about you?  What excuse are you tempted to throw out for why you can’t do what you are supposed to do…why you can’t serve…why you can’t give…why you can’t spend time in his word…why you can’t _______?  Excuses are comical anyway…Excuses are our attempt at telling God what He can and cannot do.  How funny

just a rant.

my old youth pastor used to get on us for not reading our bible. he used to say, “what will you say when you are standing in line to give an account to God and the guy in front of you has no arms, no legs, is blind, deaf, and mute, but learned to read braille with his tongue so that he could read the bible and know about God?”

Ummmm… I was busy?

There’s a difference in bland and clean. I like clean. I like this.

I like this one.
Especially since you included handy links at the bottom to refinance my home and recycle my plastics.
That is most helpful.

Well to comment on what Ryan’s youth pastor used to say…if Ryan and the blind, deaf, etc guy are both believers when they go to heaven…won’t they have new bodies anyway? Reading your Bible for the sake of competition is worse than not reading it at all. I love your posts pastor Jeff…you really bring the “heat”. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing…you rock
