“I like to hear pastors talk about the pain they’ve experienced in ministry…the diarrhea…the rash…we can all relate to that.”

Prov. 4:20–My son, pay attention to what I say.  Listen carefully to my words. Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.

• You don’t guard something that is not important.
• If you don’t guard your heart it will be taken from you.
• The last words spoken to me(Dino) from my pastor before I launched were, “It will never work!  Come back in 6 months when you are broke and I’ll give your your job back!” (talk about encouraging)
• It was then that I realized it is Me and God.
• A friend told me(Dino) “just preach up the church…PREACH IT UP!”  What does that mean?

4 things will have to be our heart IF we are going to make it.

4.  Make sure we have servant relational leadership.

3.  Acknowledge and Celebrate what others are doing.

• Operate in a spirit of honor.
• Every ministry that has fallen into sin was preceded by an elitist spirit.
• You don’t grow by pulling others down.
• We’re not honored because we’ve never given honor.

2.  Make sure we protect our passion and intimacy with Jesus.

• Pastor…Be the best worshiper in the house!
• live from the overflow.

1.  Make sure we enjoy our life–ALL OF IT!

• “I’ve got 3 kids that I’ve got to meet in heaven.”
• Enjoy Friends
• Have Fun
• Laugh a bunch.

Find out what your heart is and guard it because out of it will flow life.

Over 16 years, lots have changed at Healing Place church but not our heart!
