Today while reading Psalm 63 I was rocked with the first sentence.  It says this:

“O God, you are my God…”

I had to stop and let that sink in.  GOD IS MY GOD!  In the words of Dave our student Pastor, “can you smell what I’m stepping in?”  God is my God!  The God who hung the stars in the sky is my God.  The God who created the tiny hands and fingers of my kids…He is my God!  The God who created the universe and placed the planets in orbit is MY God.

Don’t let that those words slip by too easily.  Too often I take God for granted as if He is some strange force hovering around the cosmos.  This verse paints a different picture.  His is not “A” God but “My” God!

WOW!

Read the rest of the passage in light of God being YOUR God!

I search for You.

My soul thirsts for You.

Your love is better than life.

I will praise You.

You satisfy me.

You are my Helper.

I cling to You.

You hold me securely.

O God, You are my God!

I love how you use the verbiage of “rocked” by a verse. That’s such a perfect way to put it. So much better than that ol’ fashion way of saying “blessed” or “convicted”, those are ugly words, and not in anyway what we feel when a verse “rocks” us. Keep doing what you do, that only you can do. You rock!!
