It’s hard to believe it is May already! Where is 08 going?
Today we wrapped up our “21″ series. This has been one of the most practical series that we have done to this point. Several months ago it was our goal to help people take steps toward experiencing life-change and toward becoming the people that God created them to be. I’d have to say that this series was a big step in that direction.
Week 1 the focus was on intentional INPUT.
Week 2 we talked about intentional OUTPUT.
Today we talked about intentional INVESTing.
I had some people ask me after the service if I was nervous talking about money. Good question. When I talk about money it doesn’t make me nervous because I remove almost all my opinion from the equation. The bottom line is that God’s word speaks for itself. I don’t know anyone who ruined their finances by following God’s Word. Let’s face it…handling our finances OUR way hasn’t exactly brought much fulfillment…Maybe it’s time we try God’s way?
Here are a few quick hits from today’s services:
- got his first weekend off since September and the band rocked on!
- We introduced “Break Free” by United today…it was slamming!
- Dave and Becca did an awesome job singing today.
- We had a new guy, “Andrew” on drums who did a good job.
- Attendance was strong-587 (or something like that)
- 2nd service was jammed packed.
- I’ve got a birthday this month.
- We need some of our 2nd service folks to switch to 1st service to free up some seats for hurting people.
- We were missing several key people and we felt it.
- We had new faces serving today.
- We promo’d our new series beginning next week on Mother’s Day called “LEGO.”

- We had to can the video announcements and promo video because we had gremlins in our equipment.
- People seemed very responsive to the truth of God’s word regarding finances.
- My Birthday is coming up
- We launched a 90 tithing challenge today.
- I’ll be curious to see how many people take the step of trusting God and putting Him first.
- Statistics say that the average Christians gives 2.56% rather than 10%…that’s sad. We need to change that!
- Today was our last day with some of our UNCW guys before they head to Sweden for six weeks on a missions trip.
- We got Kevin McGeorge back from his 2 1/2 month stint in Europe. I love that guy. He oozes positivity!
- WE GAVE AWAY FREE LIFEPOINT T-SHIRTS TODAY! Giving away fee stuff is fun!
- Lots of new kids and families.
- I am wearing a fedora right now.
- It is my birthday on May 25th.
