Love God…Love Others…Serve the World

Pastors Roundtable

May 8, 2008 Leadership

I had the privilege of spending several hours yesterday with several pastors from around the Raleigh area at a Pastors Roundtable at C3 church with Matt Fry and Stovall Weems.  Anytime I get around guys like that it is like drinking out of the fire hose.  God has used both of these guys to passionately shape my life.

Here are a few of my thoughts from the roundtable.

Desire // Denial // Drive

Luke 9:23-24

  • We must fight for a constant, relentless, personal pursuit of God.
  • The church grows as we grow.
  • We stop…the church stops.
  • If you saw Celebration Church today you would see lots of stuff and gadgets but none of that has brought anyone into a relationship with Jesus.
  • IT is the intangible relationship with Christ.
//Desire
  • Are you excited about getting in God’s Word?
  • “God, what are you going to speak to me today?”
//Denial
  • Self Discipline
  • regular times of prayer and fasting awaken us to areas of our life that aren’t right.
  • Stay sensitive and fresh to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
//Drive
  • take up your cross daily and follow me.
  • Get up regardless of what you are facing.
  • Jesus is worth it and the church is worth it.
  • You get discouraged at 7000 just like you do at 700.

    This is strong. I have been wrestling with it since Wednesday and I think it should be called “how to have a 3D relationship with God”.
