I just finished reading an incredible book about Steve Jobs.  I am an apple enthusiast so I have a keen appreciation for Steve Jobs and his leadership that is redefining Apple Inc.  This book covers the rise, fall, and resurrection of Apple.  It is an inside look into the leadership dynamic that has allowed Apple to return as a pace setter in the technology industry.  Here are a few things that stood out to me. (there is no way I could list everything that I highlighted)

 

• Face hard decisions head on.
• Get informed; don’t guess.
• Focus means saying “no.”
• Stay focused; don’t allow feature creep.
• Don’t listen to your customers.  They don’t know what they want. (you really got to read this one.)
• Even though apple was only a few months old, the plastic case made it look like we had already achieved high-volume production.
• Design is function, not form.
• Don’t listen to “yes” men.  Argue and debate.
• Find a passion for your work.  It is infectious.
• Insist on things that are seemingly impossible.
• Burn the boats.  Stand and fight.
• Don’t worry where the idea came from.
• Trust your process.
• Embrace the team.
