Transitions are always a tricky thing.  I feel like we are have been in  a constant state of change since the church began.  One of the major shifts that we are going through as a church is the shift from "me to we."  When we started Lifepoint we were two men and a truck.  In the past two years things have changed quite a bit.  We’ve add new ministry elements, new team members, more trailers, more equipment, more everything!  However, most of our systems that supported us in the early days can no longer accommodate us now.

One of the toughest shifts that a team will go through is the shift from "Me to We."  In the beginning one person would be responsible for entering data or setting up an area, or overseeing a department.  Today we need multiple people fulfilling that role.  We have to transition our leaders from a mind set that says, "Me to We."  I am reminded of John Maxwell’s statement, "there is no success without a successor!"  Billy Hornsby also says, "nothing is impossible for the guy who doesn’t have to do it himself."

Take a look around and see if there are areas where you are the lone ranger.  It’s time to shift from "Me to We."Tags: ,
