Today a team of 14 people from Lifepoint and Southside hopped a plane in Raleigh at 6am to fly to Fortaleza, Brazil.  In just a few days the team will be on the ground in a village called Ubauna

Deathline divx .  I had the privelege of visiting Ubauna back in Jan. of 07.  God used that experience to rock my world.  You can watch the video here.

Since January of 07, we have partnered with Gospel for Brazil to launch a church in the village.  We’ve seen people healed, people come to know Jesus, and a town experiencing life.  Why do we partner with mission opportunities like this?  For one simple reason, to point people to life!  You can follow along with our team right here.

Just today I pulled my journal off the shelf and read my entry from Day 1 of my trip to Ubauna.  I thought I’d share it with you.

1/17/07  10:41  On the Plane.

We’ve been sitting for roughly 6 hours now.  I’m tired of sitting.  The service on TAM Airlines has been pleasant. Upon departure I was offered a half opened caramel chew followed by a warm wetnap.  The wetnap was nice.  I really wanted to use it on my arm pits.  I refrained. We have been offered drinks on several occasions.  For dinner the choices were chicken or “MEAT.”  I went with the chicken. Salad, Roll, Rice, Chicken and a brownie.  It was tasty.  they didn’t pick up the trays for about 2 hours which made you feel imprisoned in your seat.  I was like a caged lion.  I had to get up!  Upon the removal of my tray I quickly got up and paced the aisle and very sneaky like spied on the first class passengers.

I sparked up a conversation with the lady next to me named Monica.  she lived in Boston but is moving back to Brazil.  She taught me some more Portuguese.  She is a Christian.

We are in descent now.  Tchau!
