About a month ago I started kicking off my mornings with a strawberry, banana, and blueberry smoothie. I find it is a great start to a great day. However, we did not have a very good blender at the house. We had this food processor/blender combo. One problem, it didn’t do process or blend very good. Thus began my quest for a good blender.
I took my birthday money and bought a cheap blender from Walmart. I just thought all blenders were created equal. Boy was I wrong. Within a few days I realized that my “cheap” blender was just that, “cheap!” So back to Walmart it went. I shelled out an additional $20 to upgrade to what appeared to be a much nicer blender that had more power, more features, and a stainless steal cup (which I never used). After a few days this blender began to make weird noises and was not meeting my expectations. So yesterday it went back to Walmart. This time I spent another $20 to get the best blender that they had. This blender is different. It doesn’t process food or have 47 different speeds or programmable settings. All it does is blend. It has three settings. That’s it. Since I brought it home yesterday I have made two smoothies…and they have been great!

It just goes to show that all blenders are not created equal. You can make you selection based on price, power, features, etc. but at the end of the day you just want a blender that blends. Right?
I’m sure there’s a message in there somewhere.
Besides, who actually knows the difference between puree, crush, liquify, and pulverize anyway?

Ah but “will it blend”

Good point Chad. I don’t think I’ll be blending my rake or iphone any time soon.
I haven’t visited your blog in awhile. You can’t go wrong when you are discussing smoothies and Walmart. I was there today. Hope to you see you and Michelle soon bro.
