Happy Birthday Emery!  Today you turned 4 years old.  I can’t even begin to tell you what a joy it is to have you as a part of our family.  I am amazed at what awesome kids God has blessed mommy and I with.  Watching you grow up has been special.  This year you learned to ride a bike without training wheels.  You learned to start peddling all by yourself.  Sure you crashed quite a bit but it never kept you down.  You are strong and courageous!

Sometimes I dream of what God is going to do through you.  I absolutley beleive that God is going to use you to turn the world upside down!  He has given you an amazing combination of compassion, humor, courage, and just enough quirkiness to make you YOU!

I’ll never forget how you simply do what you feel like doing.  You’re not a follower you are a leader.  I’ll never forget how you started peeing off the bridge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  That moment made me proud to be your dad.  Sure it may have weirded some people out but not me!

I love that you have a compassionate heart.  It is obvious that you have a real love for people.  You are already talking to homeless people and feeding them lunch on Wednesdays.  You give away your last piece of candy.  You share with your brother and sister.

You are a great UNO player even though you show everyone your cards.  You do awesome flips on the trampoline.  You are a great snuggler.  I love it when we have conversations about things like how you want to set up a desk in my office and work at the church 80 hours a week for $100 dollars.

I love how you tell me that you are going to things when you get “BIGGER.”  Guess what…you are bigger now!  You skateboard already.  You’re gonna be surfing soon.  Sure you still put your shoes on the wrong feet and your shirt on backwards but that is what makes you EMERY!

If the past few years have been any indication of what the future holds than the world had better brace themselves because Emery is going to Rock this place for JESUS!
