So I took the plunge last night and put my iPhone on craigslist just to see if I would get any bites.  Boy was I surprised.  I didn’t think that I would receive between 15-20 offers from people to buy my phone. So I made arrangements to meet an older gentleman after work today.  The man is buying the phone for his son.  I was anticipating a quick 5 minute in and out transaction.

So I arrived at the destination and began to show the gentleman that the phone was in 100% working condition.  He was pleased so I began the process of erasing my info off the phone and restoring it so that He could activate it.  I was anticipating this process would take 5 minutes max.  Man was I wrong.

It must have taken 30-45 minutes for the phone to perform the restoration.  Needless to say this gave us plently of time to talk about life.  This guy fought in Nam and has a special contraption attached to his head to help him hear.  He’s got five kids spread out from Germany to Maryland.  He lived in Raleigh.  He’s been jaded by a Baptist church that looked down on him for carrying the wrong translation of the Bible.  He’s written off church because it is full of rules and hypocrites.

I tell you this because you never know when God is going to interrupt your schedule so that you can share with someone what Jesus is really about.  Eventually he asked me what I “DO” for a living. So I told him.  It wasn’t weird.  You could tell that he was open to God just not church.  I told him that Jesus is nothing like the church that turned him off and that we (Lifepoint) exist for people like him.  It was a great conversation.

So now I am phone-less.  I’m trying to use my old motorola slvr but it refuses to hold a charge.  I should be back online by the end of the week.

Jeff one (one of many things) thing that God has given you is your face, yes I said face. You have that trusting, innocent, young I am no threat face. No disrespect there bro! which allows people to let there guard down and open up to you. I am sure you hear many stories that could fill a whole book up. By people opening up to you they themselves get healing just in letting it out of their heart. It is a gift you have, hold on to it and enjoy what God has given you.

This happened to me last Thursday: I am in Dillon County SC, on an appointed case where the mom’s boyfried sexually abused her 4 childern: 11,9,7,6. Because of this her rights as a mom are being terminated. This has been going on for several years and we had too wait 4 hours prior to the hearing. She is seeking “rehabilitation” through the court system but said “she still felt the same inside….”. (There’s my cue from GOD….)I invited her to BAREFOOT CHURCH to reunite her with her maker, and listen to our current series on Not Quitting. Like you, i am in a situation with lots of time to “waste”, and who shows up but my Father. God. LOVE THE BLOG.
