Our Gas Give-away was a huge success this morning. I got a phone call at 7am telling me that cars were already starting to line up. I wasn’t expecting people to arrive 2 hours early. I guess that little news clip that ran last night created a little stir.
By 8:30am we had over 100 cars in line waiting for the pumps to start.
We kicked things off at 8:45. It was on!
We got to meet tons of new people. It was amazing how nice everyone was. People didn’t mind waiting in line for free gas. I had the privilege of speaking with one guy who had recently gotten laid off from his job and had no money to drive to job interviews. What a blessing!
We had several cars run out of gas in line. One guy even ran out of gas at the intersection near the station. He had no idea that we were giving away free gas. I love it!
We also had WWAY and WECT come out to cover the story! I love those guys.
To sum up this week: we had 30,000 invitations delivered to neighbors, $4,500 dollars in free gas given away, 100 yard signs placed around the community, 60 volunteers showing the love the of Jesus, hundreds of bottles of water passed out…and the weekend is only half over.
Tonight we will get together from 4pm-8pm with our dream team to practice set up for tomorrow. I can’t wait!
If you served at the gas give-away, we’d love to hear your stories. Please email them to info@lifepointnow.com Firestorm trailer

Its awesome what you guys are doing.
This is so amazing! Us ROCKers for one are so proud of Lifepoint for showing the love of Jesus in a real way to this community!!!!
BTW……my husband and I have some old friends that tried of Lifepoint for the first time this past week. They called us to tell us that they LOVED it and would definitely be back. They’re comment was, “It was SO different from anything church we’ve ever been to.” We are so excited for them to have found a place that they feel at home.
