Where to begin…
We kicked this weekend off with a free gas giveaway for the community. There is something awesome about giving away free Gas! I’ll share some stories with you this week from that experience.
Saturday evening we had over 100 of our dream team volunteers come out the Ashley High School to practice setting up and tearing down our new location. Our team is amazing and did a fantastic job!
This morning was our very first services at the high school. I didn’t know what to expect. The one thing I did know was that God was in the house and when God is here anything can happen. Today we were also wrapping up our “At The Movies” series with the summer blockbuster, “Sex and the City.”
Here are my thoughts from today’s services:
- There was some serious tension in the room today.
- When the room is tense you know you are touching on a sensitive subject.
- I’m glad that Lifepoint is the kind of place that doesn’t shy away from the tough subjects.
- Our Usher team did an incredible job today seating people. awesome job team!
- I was very proud of all our teams.
- Our set up and tear down team was insanely fast. I’m convinced we’ve got the bet bunch of guys.
- Having a little more time between services was very nice!
- Attendance was 685 today.
- We implemented our “Next Steps” area and had atleast 9 people stop by after the service and say they prayed to become a follower of Jesus today!
- We had lots of first time guests today!
- today is the kind of day that makes you glad that we have a Pro-kids policy!
- I had my first taste of coffee/caffeine this morning in 22 days!
- I got to eat fajitas for lunch today! AMAZING!!!!
- Our stage looked great this morning!
- We’ve still got some kinks to iron out with our new facility but I can already see the potential that we have at the High School.
- It was awesome today to see our team leaders really stepping up and leading their teams. way to go guys!
- We’re still working on running IMAG. We’re not quite ready yet but were working on it.
- WHAT A DAY!
- The great news is that we get to do it again in 7 days! I love what God has called us to do!
All Glory to God!

Weekend Recap | Bryan McGee added these kind words on Sep 29 08 at 2:46 pmLarry Keith added these kind words on Sep 29 08 at 11:02 amIt was intense in the Elementary side too. Kids that should have been in service were directed back to us (me) The kids were mad at first but then I told them they could be my helper for the morning. Wow the lights came on and they really did a good job helping me wth my 4 & 5th graders. 15 kids that morning and I could use the help.
It felt right upsatirs it looked good and sounded GREAT and love the new Tee’s. Cant wait till next week to see if my 1st timers come back.
