. He and I have had the opportunity to do ministry together for over 5 years now. When I met Brad he was racing BMX and well on his way to turning Pro. I think he was currently ranked #2 in the nation at an amateur level. God rocked his world and changed his passions. I’ll never forget when Brad told me that he was quitting BMX because God was calling him into ministry. Brad began his ministry career as my intern in student ministry. He told me that he like graphic design. His first design was hand drawn and his second was made in Microsoft Word. Needless to say, he’s come a long way! He is growing as a designer, a creative director, and a leader.

One thing that I’m terrible at is letting the urgent take precedent over the important. Whether it be in my personal life or here at Lifepoint, I see it all the time. In my role the most important thing I can do is be creative but so often I let little urgent things (that I probably should have delegated a long time ago and that’s a post for another time) sneak into my schedule. Before long, I’m looking back at my week and I didn’t have any intentional time that was spent being creative and brainstorming. This week I added a calendar to my iCal and I call it my NON-NEGOTIABLES.
To name a few of these…
- Research for upcoming series, messages, or events
- Creative brainstorming
- Spending time at 30,000 feet dreaming about the future
These are just a few of the things that if I’m not intentional about, I’ll let other things creep in. I noticed over the past few months I have spent way to little time doing these things.
Creativity takes time so make time for it!
Thank you Brad!
