I woke up this morning to a mild heart attack. I looked at my clock which sets itself automatically and freaked out. It said it was an hour earlier than I thought it was. In a moment of panic I thought that today was that “fall forward” weekend when you set your clocks forward. I was about to hyperventilate thinking that nobody was going to be at church on time. I was very nervous until I googled daylight saving time and realized that my clock was just messed up.
Anyway…the day had nowhere to go but up…and up it did!
- We had an incredible time of worship where the power of God was definitely in the building.
- Drew and the guys blew me away today.
- I love how Drew is growing as a worship leader.
- Our church was singing very loud on Jesus Messiah!
- The band covered Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi. I was amazed! They received a standing ovation in the first service. Is it sad that our gang sang louder on a Bon Jovi song than on any other song in the history of lifepoint?
- While I didn’t ride out on a steel horse I did ride into the service in this.
- I preached on Hell today. It was intense.
- I don’t have the total numbers from today but we’ve had approximately 65 people begin a relationship with Jesus over the last 5 weeks!
- We had Warner Bros. setting up to film a scene for One Tree Hill in the gym right next door to our worship service.
- Someday we’ll have the production trucks that they had!
- I caught some awesome waves after church today!
- I saw a dolphin pretty close up!
- I’m getting ready to eat some sushi tonight!
- Next week begins a new series called “INKED.”
but it’s SPRING forward or FALL back… not fall forward?
Thanks Rebek…just goes to show how much I know.
oh and fall back IS next weekend though. don’t forget next saturday night! glad to hear you’re ok though.
Hey Jeff. I KNOW I think I’ve told you, what, NUMEROUS times! that was the best sermon ever, but today was off the charts! It was fantastic! You hit home with so many people, including me, on so many levels you wouldn’t believe! AND…. ASHAMED to admit… Dylan & Jeff were camping with boy scouts, so I WAS going to “play hooky” and sleep late, but God drug my lazy butt out of the bed & made me go & I was SO glad he did!!!!!!!!! AND DREW!! Oh My Gosh!!! He NAILED ‘Dead or ALive’!!!! It was so awesome! If I closed my eyes I felt like I was back in —-th grade!!! shut UP…. I know…. you were what? 8th? lol:) Just kidding! Anyway….. great sermon, great music & Lifepoint just gets better & better & better!!!! I’m so priviledged to be a part of it! Thank you! Hope you & the family have a wonderful week!!!
PS: I HOPE you have received my emails, but my Mom has her MRI tomorrow, & on the 3rd she finds out when she has her mastectomy. PLEASE keep her in your prayers. Thank you.
PS! OH!!! FORGOT! If you start pulling for the Redskins – The Winners most the time – you wouldn’t have to worry about those Steelers….!!!! lol:) We’ve converted Austin already…. taking a little longer with Jeff & Donna! LOL:)
Ya know….call me superstitious or whatever, but I don’t I could ever do what you did to open the sermon this week. You truly are a bold preacher! That took some guts lad! My hat’s off to ya! Another great week at LP and another great message from our pastor!
that pic is just creepy. i’ve always hated viewings anyway. the person never looks like they really did, plus those things are way to expensive to be buried in the ground. how do you think you’ll go? coffin or cremation? i think this calls for a blog with open discussion!
…I was fond of the part in the services when you got the attention of the parents who “snuck” in their little ones..Would like to have been in those cars on the ride home for the explanation of why Pastor Jeff says there is NO Santa!..Next week, can we debunk the “Tooth Fairy”??? FUN!
AMAZING service! You outdid yourself. We had Dane’s parents there visiting and they were blown away by you and the entire experience. THANK YOU for putting out that kind of quality on a consistent basis!
