I am currently sipping some throat coat tea which means that I may have pushed it a bit hard today. Despite a few tech glitches I’d say we had a great day today. Here is my quick recap on the day:
- I definitely slipped and said “pee pee” during annoucements in the first service. I meant to say “people.”
- We got to baptize 8 people today!
- Michelle and I had some friends in for the weekend and had a blast. It was great hanging with Chad and Rebekah this weekend.
- I was told an older gentlemen in a suit put toilet paper in his ears. I didn’t think it was very loud today.
- We had some issues with Drew’s guitar in both services today. Tech issues are frustrating. Drew and the band did a great job pushing through.
- We introduced “Mystery” by Charlie Hall today. That song has been resonating with me lately.
- I got to talk about the prodigal son today. I love that story.
- People met Jesus today!
- I got to talk to a bunch of first time guests and they were pumped to be at Lifepoint!
- It was a privilege to have one of the guidance counselors from Sunset Elementary with us today. She said she had to see this church that wanted to reach out to their kids! I am jacked that 40 people from Lifepoint want to help reach out to under-privileged kids!
- Yes I told our young girls who are dating losers that are pressuring them for sex to kick them in the nuts. I actually said, “man parts” in the second service. The dad in me was getting a little rowdy.
- I met a lady after the first service who told me that her daughter has given up on God but that this is the kind of church she might go to. That made me smile.
- I announced our debtfreewilmington.com website today and we already got 7 people signed up. It is going to be awesome.
- Next week is big! We are launching a new series: DebtFreeWilmington in the morning and we are holding a student event at the Soapbox in the evening!
- I believe that every adult, married or single, needs to attend the debtfreewilmington experience on Dec. 6th. Sign up here!
- I’m not sure how many people prayed to begin a relationship with Christ today but it looked like a bunch of cards. Seeing people turn to Jesus never gets old!
- Regret is painful but it doesn’t have to be permanent!
- This going to be a crazy week. I fly to ATL on Tuesday to meet up with Gary and a few friends and then drive to Anderson, SC for a coaching network on Thursday. It’s gonna be fun.
- Pray I can cram an entire week of work into one day.
ok now I have to blog
I was one of the ones baptized Sunday and I must say, it was an awesome day for me! I was so pumped all day! Thank you for having Lifepoint in Wilmington, it’s created such a ripple effect for me and in my life with others!
The cleansing feeling of my baptism stayed with me all through the day on Sunday. I told my husband that I felt so at peace. As a someone who was raised as a Catholic, I finally felt that it was time for the adult “Gina” to seal my relationship with Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I don’t consider myself “born again”. I consider myself blessed and able to move forward in a most profound personal and spiritual relationship with my Lord.
I’d like to thank Daryl for his role in my decision to be baptized. Also, I’d like to thank Kevin, and all of the wonderful volunteers who helped to make the day so special.
