Romans 11:3–(quoting Isaiah the prophet) “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” And do you remember God’s reply? He said, “No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed to baal.”
Isaiah was speaking from his limited perspective. He was throwing a pitty party because everything looked doom and gloom. “Whoah is ME! I’m the only one left! Nobody knows the trouble I’ve seen!” You get the picture.
God responds from His perspective, “No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed to baal.”
Q? Am I looking through my lense or Gods lense? Am I sitting on the Pitty Potty? (side note: Greg Surratt shared a story one day where a lady told him, “it’s okay to sit on the pitty potty just don’t stay there so long that you don’t get ring around the hiney!”)
Does God need to give me a reality check?
God, Help me to see as you see. I see limitations but You see the big picture. I see what I don’t have but You see what You have. Give me Your eyes so that I will see, walk, and speak in concert with You. –amen.
