Today was a great day at Lifepoint! One of the reasons that it was so great is that I had pretty much no part of it. God has put some amazing talent around Lifepoint and today we saw that talent on display. Pastor Daryl
did an incredible job bringing clarity to a difficult subject. As we continued our “Life’s A Trip” series, Daryl, spoke today about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. On top of a great teaching we awesome had incredible music led by one of our college students Patrick McCreary. Here are my quick thoughts on the weekend.
- I’m glad I didn’t speak because I was feeling rough over the past two days.
- Yes, I had diarrhea on the plane.
- Yes, I had to throw up.
- Yes, I was afraid I might do them both at the same time. (but didn’t)
- I was laid up in bed for most of the day Saturday. I felt lazy but I needed the rest.
- I watched “fireproof” with some friends on Saturday night. I am usually not a fan of Christian movies but I thought the message was strong. This is a movie that every married couple should watch.
- It was great knowing that I could take it easy today and not preach.
- God has assembled a phenomenal team here at Lifepoint.
- We played the Wayne Cordeiro video from OnePrayer last week and our attendance went up. I’m thinking Wayne should speak more often!
- I was blown away by how well our band and Patrick did leading worship today! Great Job Guys!
- We have some amazing Leaders being developed right now. Real leaders…the servant kind.
- Daryl had me cracking up talking about how his grandmother laid her hands on the fridge and it started working again. Then he said he had some old remote control cars he like for her to pray for.
- Yes, Daryl butchered Romans 8:1 during the second service but I wouldn’t want point it out and make him feel bad. I know what its like to mess up a scripture from memory!
- Our second service is getting slammed! That is a great problem to have.
- I need 100 people to make the transition from the 11am to the 9am service next week.
- We are celebrating our 3yr Birthday next Sunday! Do not come alone!
- I love the practicality of this series. So far we’ve talked about, Reading the Bible, Praying, Having a Quiet Time, and listening to the Holy Spirit.
- I love being apart of a church that is simple. I found myself casting vision on a couple on the plane ride from Atlanta to Raleigh. They said they want to come visit. What a trip!
- Love God. Love Others. Serve The World.
- I snuck up and checked out our kids area today. It’s cool seeing those guys jumping around and singing to Jesus. I think it makes Him happy.
- Our sound guys have been doing an awesome job over the past few weeks. Those guys are some of the unsung heroes but we couldn’t make it without them.
- Definitely looking forward to the Superbowl in a few hours…Go Stillers.
- I wore my Troy Palamalu Jersey today. We had more Steelers fans in the first service and Cardinals fans in the second.
- Will I be sharing some of my experiences from my trip??? Yes, once I’ve done a better job processing them.
- Here is one thing I learned–God is way bigger than I ever thought He was/is.
- Did I mention that next week is going to be one big shindig??? Get your friends to Lifepoint this Sunday at 9am or 11am.
- Did I mention that I need 100 people to move from the 11am service to the 9am service? I did….good!
I feel like all the people that joined the demolition crew this week deserve a special shout out! It’s never moved so effectively!
