Dear Gym owners,
I regret to inform you that I am leaving your gym. I have come to the conclusion that gyms do not work. I have been a member of three different gyms and my body is as flabby as ever. How dare you talk about improving my life? Nothing has changed. My waist line is bigger than ever. My arms are dwindling away. What happened to the promise of six pack abs? What about that beach body?
I have made up my mind. The gym is a waste. Please don’t take it personally. You have nice shiny equipment and I’m sure the treadmills are fun. Personally, I’ve never used them but I don’t think they wouldn’t make a difference in my life. I’ve walked through your doors for three years now and nothing has changed. Like I said, don’t take it personally, I’ve tried other gyms and they didn’t work either.
After much thought I have decided that gym’s don’t work. Please cancel my membership.
Sincerely,
Flabby gym guy that has a membership but does nothing with it.
P.S. can I get my money back?
P.S.S.–No this post was not inspired by anyone leaving the church download Body Double I mean gym and Yes, I am still a card carrying gym member that is in the process of getting ripped!
I concurr… Hey I love the new old blog layout! Def like the new pic!
Awesomely written.
Love it! Love it! Love it! You sly dog you….by the way here’s quote a heard lately that I’ve been digesting from a great fellow Lifepointer…”My wife and I came to Lifepoint with an attitude of service and not of consumerism, and that’s how we’ll continue.” I love that! Now there’s a “gym-member” that’s using the equipment!

I would love to throw out that “I have my own equipment at my house” argument…
Everyone knows someone who owns fitness equipment that never gets used (ab lounge anyone?)
At the end of the day, I don’t know a SINGLE person who got [physically] fit alone. Everyone that I know that is in the pursuit of fitness has at least 1 person to challenge them, push them, and encourage them. “Fitness” in isolation is a pipedream.
