In the words of our Intern Lifegroups Director, Kevin McGeorge…today was AWESOME! I preached about living an unforgettable journey. I got to preach on one of my favorite passages, the story of the good samaritan The Glimmer Man hd . Here is the rundown from today:
- If we want to live an unforgettable journey we must:
- See the Need.
- Get off our Donkey.
- Embrace the Broken.
- Inconvenience ourselves.
- Today’s message was one of those where I could just jump out of my skin I was so pumped!
- The difference between the Priest, the Levite, and the Samaritan is that the Samaritan ran toward
the hurting while the others ran away.
- Lifepoint will always be the kind of church that runs toward the hurting!
- We will get off our donkey’s and assumptions and serve the world! (yes, I told our church they could abbreviate assumption if it helps them remember it.)
- I talked to several people who began a relationship with Jesus today!
- We are reaching hurting people and I love it.
- I spoke with a man who had a heart attack earlier this week. He said he died on the table and they brought him back! He got saved today! Some of his wife’s co-workers invited them to lifepoint!
- I spoke with a young lady who’s boyfriend is in jail. The boyfriend in jail told her to come to Lifepoint. She brought a friend with her today and her friend got saved!
- We had first time guest say that they wanted to start serving!
We’ve got people who haven’t gotten off their donkey for years and now first timers are going to out serve them.
- We are and always will be an over and above church. You could say we are a “Rocks in the Sink” kind of church.
- I could brag on our Dream Team all day.
- We will have ministry tours running each weekend to help people get plugged in. Stop by our next steps table to get more info.
- I love watching our band play with passion. Our electric guitarist was worshiping his heart out today while ripping a solo.
- The band played, “with or without you” by U2. It was cool to sing, “And you give yourself away!”
- If you call yourself a mature believer and you don’t serve you are a liar. Yes I said that to the second service. Maturity looks like Jesus and Jesus was a servant.
- Someone came up to me and said, “I know what makes Lifepoint so special…this is an ‘all in’ church.” I couldn’t agree more. We are all in for the sake of those not yet in.
- Our creative director was out snowboarding and his team still knocked it out of the park. Huge Props to Jeff Smith for being such a great leader.
- We had approximately 25 more kids sponsored today through Gospel for Brazil. That takes our total number to over 85.
Proof that this is an over and above church. I love it!
- We continue to see new faces serving every week!
- Next week we wrap up our “Life’s A Trip” series. Set your alarm clocks ten minutes earlier. Don’t be late next week.
- Have I mentioned we’ve got some big stuff in the works???
- In two weeks we are kicking off a new series called “theSECRET.” We’ve never done a series like this one. I’ll fill you in on more later.
- Be praying some big prayers for the next few months for Lifepoint!

love the new blog layout and hearing all that God is doing over there – so awesome! We’re praying for you guys!
Someone once told me, “You’re never more like Jesus than when you’re suffering.” Sounds pretty and I don’t entirely disagree, but I think it would be far more accurate if you changed the last word of the quote to “serving.”
Lifepoint Church is a place where every follower of Christ gets an opportunity to serve. “Love God…Love people…Serve the World!” Excellent message today my pastor!
Unbelieveable today….you have a divine way of taking Jesus’ parables and making them so applicable to our lives today. Asking God to allow us to see others the way He sees them,…that’s going to be my special prayer this week. Thanks for being a servant.
Jeff,
We enjoyed worshiping with Lifepoint Sunday. I’m excited to see what God is doing in Wilmington through Lifepoint. You guys are doing an awesome job for the Kingdom!
