A Leaders Job

Recently I’ve been reading, “Creating Magic:  10 Common Sense Leadership Strategies from a Life at Disney.”  All in all it is a great book.  I love hearing how Disney keeps creating magic year after year regardless of economy.  I came across a quote that I had to write down.  Here it is…

“A leader’s job is to do what has to be done, when it has to be done, in the way it should be done, whether you like it or not and whether they like it or not.”

That’s a quote worth keeping in front of you.

That is a CRAZY weird coincidence because I was just talking to someone yesterday about Lifepoint “service” and Lifepoint “Spirit” and I compared us to Disney and their constant strive for “World Class” service excellence. Their brand is synonymous with great leadership, daring decision making, and service excellence. I KNOW that is what you guys are striving for too! .. Which is why I like serving so much here at Lifepoint! Thanks for being such an amazing leader!

Should it not say, the leader’s job is to make sure that the team gets done what needs to be done etc. How many times have we seen “leaders” not let the team do the work but run off and do it themselves because they can do it easier and faster than getting the team to do it.
