As they say in the Wizard of Oz, “there’s no place like home.” While it is a great honor to preach at other churches there is a vibe at Lifepoint that I haven’t found anywhere else. Here is the rundown from today.
- Ripley's Game film
- I hate pollen. I started feeling crummy on Saturday and woke up today with nasty sinus pressure.
- I definitely arrived at the school/church feeling exhausted and out of it. However, my God is bigger than my circumstances!
- We wrapped up our series on Philippians called, “theSECRET.”
- This was the first book study that we have done and it was a real treat to dissect a book like Philippians.
- Both services were packed out today. We’ve had two weeks in a row over 740.
- Yes I believe that our economy and our nation would be better off if we applied Phil. 4 to our lives and practiced contentment.
- I got to sing an old hymn on stage by myself today. “Count your Blessings” do you know it?
- My friends at C3 church launched their Raleigh campus and had 544 in attendance. Way to go guys!
- We are holding our first worship night at Lifepoint Midtown this Wednesday night at 6:30pm.
- I got a feeling it is going to be jammed!
- We’ve gone through quite a bit of tickets for our 3 Easter Services: 9am, 11am, & 12:30pm. You can pick up more tickets at Midtown on Wednesday or next weekend at church.
- Remember, our Easter Celebration is a FREE event. The tickets simply help us be prepared for our guests. will not turn anyone away.
- I spoke with a young guy who just got out of jail this week. He invited Christ in his life and is getting baptized on Wednesday!
- I was given a t-shirt today as a gift! I like gifts! It’s one of my love languages.
- I got an amazing email from one of our leaders today. take a look at it:
- Hey guys, Just wanted to shoot an email to let you know that while I was in the ladies room this morning (sorry for too much info there but it applies)
I overheard two guests talking as they were washing their hands. One said, “Look, they actually have rocks in the sink. Do you see that, they ACTUALLY have rocks in the sink? That is so cool!” Yes, it is cool and I thought whoever it is that puts the rocks in the sink should know that it does not go unnoticed. It was awesome to hear two guests talking about it and what an impression that made on them that Lifepoint is a church of details, and one who loves others enough to put rocks in the sink!
ROCK ON!! - I enjoy following @bradbarbour’s twitter because I get to find out what I said after the service. If you don’t follow it, you should.
- When does a 4 year old effectively wipe their own butt? Just curious.
- that last comment had nothing to do with the service…I was just asking for personal reference.
- I found out today that we have several guys who have a 5:15am Bible study on Sunday mornings before they set up. That is hardcore!
- No coffee or caffeine the last few days has been taking its toll on me. I will survive!
- The Egg Drop Buzz is brewing pretty strong. (yes that was a coffee term…ummm)
- Today I announce our next series called “CRAZY LOVE!” Yeah, its gonna rock! We are going to show crazy love to our community!
- We had a bunch of hands raised during both services for people who invited Christ in their life! PRAISE JESUS! Seeing lives changed never gets old!
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME service today! As always! You could not tell at all that you felt under the weather!!!!!!!
As for Emory…. give him a couple more months…… if he’s not doing it himself by then, let him walk around in it for an hour…. he’ll learn! LOL:) JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
