To sum up the entire day in one word I would have to go with: GOD. I know its the “churchy” thing to say but seriously only God can get the credit for what took place today. I’ll do my best to recap what took place.
- Somewhere around 2:30am last night the skies busted loose and we had one massive storm. On the good side I think our entire team woke up and started praying for the event.
- When I woke up this morning there was quiet a bit of water in the ditch in front of my house which made me think the fields may be too wet to use. nope. The fields were fine.
- Right at 9:30am the sun broke through and it turned into a beautiful day.
- Technically the set up began yesterday when we had 20 port-a-potties dropped off. The port-a-potty truck got stuck in the sand. Not good.
- This morning our team arrived at 7:30am for prayer and breakfast from Chick-fil-a.
- The truck delivering the inflatables made the same mistake that the port-a-potty truck did and got stuck in the sand this morning. No Problem though. Hart Wilkie and his beast of a truck came to the rescue!
- We had atleast 185 volunteers to help us pull off this day.
- The big question leading up to the event was, “how many people do you think will be here?” Too which I would say, “I have no idea but we are prepared for 5,000-6,000.”
- Well, we didn’t have 5,000-6,000. We had approximately 10,000 people in attendance. There is no way to be absolutely sure but based upon the fact that we ran out of bracelets and parking spaces we feel pretty confident about that count.
- What’s amazing is that although the turnout was greater than anticipated, our team rose to the occasion. The DREAM TEAM was prepared to handle whatever was thrown at them.
- We had people running the 9 mammoth inflatables.
- We had people running the 10 carnival games.
- We had people running registration.
- We had a security team that was completely on their game.
- We had teams over each field.
- We had a parking team that must’ve run 10 miles today.
- We had a photographers all around the place.
- We had a sound team and announcers over the PA.
- We had the host with the most…Dane Waggett!
- Our team did a fantastic job.
- I even heard about one of our younger DREAM TEAMERS that climbed a tree to rescue a chick-fil-a cow that got stuck on some branches and gave it to a family. Way to go Shawn!
- Did it get crazy? Oh yeah. Did it get out of control? Nope! Our team did a great job handling the 2 egg drops and the one egg pick up.
- We helped parents get reconnected with children and vice versa.
- We had Scooters Sno-Balls show up and give out FREE Snowballs to everyone.
- Have I mentioned that this event was completely FREE to the community! FREE!
- The Air Force did not dissapoint with their Semi-Truck, Monster Truck, Pimped out Suburban, and Basketball game.
- We had a face painting team that stayed busy n0n-stop!
- People started lining up at 9am.
- At one point, traffic was backed up 3/4 miles down Carolina Beach Rd. Oops!
- The Star News came out and wrote an article. You can read it here and see pics here.
- I did an interview for channel 14 The Legend of Zorro during the event. I hope I get to see it.
- If God blew us away today…I wonder what He wants to do tomorrow???
- I’m uploading my pics from the day right here on the Lifepoint Flickr Site
.
- I’m still jealous that I did not get to drive the monster truck and I did not get to fly in the helicopter. bummer
- Today was a beautiful picture of teamwork! We’ve been working on this event for a few months now and there are a handful of people that went so far above and beyond! You know who you are…THANK YOU!
- Here is another link to some another Lifepointers Pics.
- I think it’s safe to say we, “LOVED GOD, LOVED OTHERS, AND SERVED THE WORLD” today!
- Today was a great start for our CRAZY LOVE Series.

It was indeed a fabulous day! I felt so priviledge of being able to be a part of it!! God definitely had plans in making this event bigger than we did! It Rocked!!!
