A few days ago I was reading 1 Thessalonians and I came across this letter from the Apostle Paul. It was a great reminder of what we, as pastors, are called to be and do.
1 Thess. 2:2–”Yet our God gave us the courage to declare his Good News to you boldly, in spite of great opposition.”
I don’t believe anyone other than Jesus has faced oppostion greater than Paul faced when he preached the Gospel. Paul acknowledged something that is crucial for us as pastors to understand…it is God who gives us the courage
to boldly My Girl dvd Underworld preach the Gospel. Pastor, you have the courage of God in you! Don’t shrink down! Don’t get cocky! Remember that you are in the position that you are in because God put you there. Be bold!

The “shrinking down” comes when our faith doesn’t give us confidence that God is for us no matter what. We “get cocky” when our faith is our truth rather than His. Either way it boils down to a question of faith and of faithfulness. Great post Pastor.
wow jeff… powerful message. we need to pray for pastors everywhere to use the boldness that comes from God within them to preach the gospel.
Thanks Jeff, I need boldness at this particular time in my life, in my ministry. Thanks again for the reminder!
Great word Jeff. I was reading the same chapter yesterday and verse 4 rocked my world as to the calling we have to communicate God’s word:
“4 For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.”
Love what you guys are doing.
