It felt great to be back in the saddle again at Lifepoint.  It is always a huge privilege to speak at other churches but the truth is that there is no group of people I would rather speak to than my friends at Lifepoint!  I love this place!

Today we wrapped up our Beautiful series…here are my thoughts from today.

  • Due to the tragic loss of Johnny Todd on Friday, today’s message took on a different spin.
  • My heart was crushed as I found out yesterday morning that Johnny took his life.  I can still remember meeting Johnny down on the beach at South Carolina Ave in Carolina Beach.  He and his wife Heather came to church that very next day.  I had the privilege of baptizing both of them on Sept 21st, 2008.  The news hit me really hard.  This is the first death that we have had to deal with at Lifepoint.  I pray I never get used to it.
  • Today I talked about the woman caught in adultery and related it to how many people feel caught in sin.
  • God took the reins of the service today and used a tragedy to redeem many people.
  • I’ve never been as emotional during a service as I was during the 9am today.
  • When the woman in John 8 was at her lowest…Jesus was right there with her.
  • Our band changed up the set list and we reworked the service an hour before kickoff today.  We felt God was moving in another direction.
  • I love working with a team that is more interested in following God than following our production sheet.
  • Drew started losing his voice during “love came down” at the end of the first service so we had Patrick, our worship/video intern step up and lead the first three songs of the second service.  Great Job Patrick!  (personally, i would’ve freaked out!)
  • I want to thank Robert Lawson for our Man Moment today.  Robert destroyed the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin Challenge twice today.  He ate a dozen wings in under 1 minute…twice!
  • We don’t know the details regarding Johnny’s funeral yet but I will be sure to share them here once I know.
  • I don’t know the total numbers yet but we had quite a few people pray to begin a relationship with Jesus.
  • I was told we ran out of message cd’s from today and Bibles that we give to people who pray to begin a relationship with Jesus.
  • My right hand man Hal Griffin Kingdom Hospital move
    • The Dish hd Rob Roy buy

Demetri Martin. Person. full movie had his announcement debut and did a great job!

  • I couldn’t help but be passionate about my message today…I think I got a little mad…in a good way.
  • Today was a prime example as to why we have a PRO-KIDS policy.  We talked about some serious topics today.  We also have a PRO-KIDS policy because we love kids too much to bore them in the name of Jesus.
  • We hosted a marriage event on Friday night for married or engaged couples.  I was very impressed with the turn out and the entire flow of the night.  We laughed.  We cried.  We ate desserts…My parents shared their story and it was powerful!  I’ll post a link to the podcast later this week.
  • Get ready guys because THE MAN SERIES is not too far around the corner.
  • I want to thank Lifepoint for the support that you guys have given me.  I truly felt engulfed in your prayers and love today.  Keep lifting me up and continue praying for the Todd family.
  • I also want to thank my pastor friends who texted or twittered me to let me know you were praying.  It meant alot to me.

I know that the anointing was on you today, because it spilled out all over the room! Son! The presence of the Holy Spirit was so thick in the house this morning it felt like fog….Thank you Pastor for having a heart that allows God to work in you and through you.
