What a weekend!
This was the craziest, most chaotic, most tense, most tiring and yet most exhilarating weekend I can remember. I’ll do my best to recap.
- My wife flew back to Maryland on Thursday to spend time with her family which left me as Mr. Mom for the weekend.
- I am not a good Mr. Mom.
- Friday night we had the viewing for Johnny Todd
- Saturday I had the privilege of honor Johnny and exalting Jesus at Johnny Todd’s funeral.
- Saturday was also my 11th year anniversary. My wife did not get home until 9:15pm Saturday night. Anniversaries by yourself aren’t cool.
- Sunday we kicked off ONE PRAYER at Lifepoint. This year we are talking about who God is.
- The title of my message was: God Is Ridiculous.
- God moved in a powerful way on Sunday. Both services were strong but the second went to a different level.
- During our last song, I really felt God was calling and audible and wanted me to get on stage and offer people the opportunity to be prayed for. I argued with God for a minute and then gave in. I’m glad I did. People started flooding the stage to be prayed for. Thanks to everyone who helped pray for people.
- A Ridiculous God uses Ridiculous People to do Ridiculous things.
- Our band played with as much energy as I have ever seen them play with.
- We went old school with My Glorious and Awesome God. They both were awesome.
- One of our Interns Preston put together an awesome video to end our service. I’ll be sure to post it later in the week.
- I believe yesterday was a day of healing for many people and a day of vision for many more.
- I was honored and humbled by the amount of emails and encouraging messages over the past week from lifepoint people. Thank you for your prayers.
- I spoke with a gentleman after the service who told me that he hasn’t been to church in 4 years and he was so thankful that he found lifepoint!
- I spoke with another man that has terminal cancer.
- I got to catch some waves yesterday with some of our staff and interns. Intern Brooke took one of the hards hits I’ve seen…and she paddled back out to charge another wave.
- Michelle and I got to go on our anniversary date last night. I am more blessed than imaginable. I can’t thank God enough for my wife. I’m looking forward to the next 11 years.
- My heart breaks over the many families and marriages that are under attack. I am praying for you guys. Don’t give up!
- My heart was crushed when I heard the news about my friend Gary Lamb resigning from Pastoring Revolution Church. Make no mistake about it, I stand beside my friend and support him as God restores his life and family. I am praying for his wife Deanna, the staff and people of Revolution.
