Last night was an incredible experience at Lifepoint Midtown. Three weeks ago the Lord put an idea on my heart for what developed into the HOPE encounter. The HOPE encounter was a no frills gathering for people to encounter the HOPE of Jesus. No Band. No Preaching. Lots of Hope!
Our team worked really hard behind the scenes to transform our Midtown Campus into five stations where people could participate in an encounter with God and His Word.
Here is what took place. As our guest arrived they were greeted by some of our staff members who talked them through all the stations that were available to them. It was amazing to see some people already sensing the presence of God as they entered the building. Our hosts gave each participant a welcome and instruction sheet to guide them through the night.
We set up Five different stations for people to encounter.
- The Cross.
- The Candles.
- Scripture.
- Communion.
- Prayer.
As I looked around the room I saw people scattered all over our midtown auditorium encountering the God of the universe. Some sat in chairs. Some were lighting candles. Some were weeping at the cross. Some were remembering Christs death through communion. Some were praying scripture into their lives. Some were being prayed for by friends and leaders. All were encountering HOPE!

awesome stuff, Jeff – I appreciate what God is doing in Lifepoint
I was so profoundly impacted by the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit last night, that it has spilled over into this day and I continue to be haunted and moved by all we saw and experienced from Him. I thank God that He laid this on your heart to do, and I pray that He will allow us to do more of this intimate type of worship at Lifepoint. One word keeps coming to my mind today…..HUGE! HUGE! HUGE!

The staff was awesome and I appreciate the kindness that was shared by all. It was a moving experience, one that we need to have more often. Thank you.
I am SO thankful to have you as a pastor. It’s encouraging and inspiring. Thank you for being real and for the way you preach… I truly believe Jesus would go to our church. Thank you again. I believe in Lifepoint and what it stands for…I did afterall move here because of Lifepoint. I want to be where Jesus is.
