I have really enjoyed this URBAN LEGENDS series. Yesterday we debunked the legend that says that TO AVOID SIN YOU MUST AVOID SINNERS!
Here are my thoughts on the weekend.
- I shared 5 problems with this legend.
- This legend makes me a victim.
- This legend says that He who is in me is weaker than He who is in the world.
- This legend causes a holy huddle mentality.
- This legend focuses on rules.
- This legend neglects the mission of Jesus.
- I loved sharing details about Jesus talking to the woman at the well.
- You can watch the message here on Tuesday.
- I have to give a shout out to Hart Wilkie. He was on vacation so he got his dad to pull the trailer. I love a leader that feels the weight of his role! Thank you HART!
- Our team has done a great job mixing up this series and going with an acoustic vibe. I have really enjoyed it but I am ready for a face shredding guitar solo!
- This weekend we have THE GLORIOUS UNSEEN leading worship at both campuses.
- Midtown was slamming last night! I am absolutely loving what is going on there! Great crowds. Growing Energy!
- The Steelers won again yesterday!
- 6 People have started a relationship with Jesus this week at Lifepoint!
- In light of yesterday’s topic, The Village, by M. Knight Shyamalan would be a good movie to watch.
- Next week we are tackling the BIGGEST Urban Legend about Eternity…Good People Go to Heaven…or do they?
- Bring your friends next week to lifepoint!
- I am proud of the many families and individuals have stepped out to trust Jesus with their finances amidst this challenging economic time. Check out this email that I just received.
- Pastor Jeff asked us to respond about what has changed since starting to tithe. It is very interesting since there is not much left over after paying my bills since I didn’t plan on the increase to the church. The first thing it has taught me is that I don’t need what I think I need. There really is a lot that I can do without. The strange thing is that after I starting tithing, I felt God telling me that friends of mine needed money. I took the money out of my savings. This week I was able to work an extra day at work that covered what I took out of my savings. Without having money to spend to worry about, I am able to focus more on things that don’t require money. These are things that bring me closer to God.
Thanks so much for the great teaching on tithing. It is nice to actually be happy to give and to know that such good things are done with this money.
How is God growing you these days?
