We’ve been learning a few life-lessons from a good friend named Hezekiah. So far he has taught me:
- Choose your legacy.
- Do first things first.
- Beware of Ministry Negligence
- As goes the leader so goes the team.
Today Hezekiah teaches that the underdog isn’t always the underdog. Just because someone is projected to lose or appears to be outmatched doesn’t mean they really are. In the spiritual world there is more than meets the eye.
In 2 Chronicles 32, Judah has experienced a radical transformation and sure enough opposition rises up. BIG TIME OPPOSITION! The king of Assyria, who is pretty much the baddest of the bad, sets up camp outside the fortified cities so that he can take control of them. Naturally the people of Judah start getting a bit freaked out when Hezekiah steps up and speaks truth into their hearts. Listen to what he says…
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.”
As a result, the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah.
In that simple speech Hezekiah teaches us that there is more than meets the eye. Just because you appear to be the underdog doesn’t mean you are the underdog.
With God on your side, no obstacle is too big.
Amen to that!!!! Know it from personal experiences!
