Overwhelmed.  If one word could capture how I feel following this weekend it would be “overwhelmed.”  Today was my first day preaching in 4 weeks.  The following are my thoughts regarding the weekend.

  • I preached out of 1 Samuel 7 about raising an Ebenezer to always remember the miracles that God has done.
  • Too often we beg God for something but never thank Him when He answers.
  • During the message I got to share some of the incredible things that God has done since November of 2005.
  • From 26 adults in a living room to our launch day at Myrtle Grove Middle School, to launching a second service 6 months later, to moving to a bigger school in the fall of 2008, to the Egg Drop of 2009, to baptisms at the beach, to Lifepoint Midtown, to my family getting out of debt, to my oldest son accepting Jesus and gettting baptized…I could go on and on!
  • As I shared our story I gathered up and built an Ebenezer or a memorial on stage.  It was a simple but cool visual.
  • Worship was led by Hannah Morrison, one of the ladies on our worship team.  I am so proud of her and how awesome she did!
  • Our band played Revelation Song for the first time ever…to say it was big would be an understatement!
  • I also threw a last minute request in this past week for our team to play “Come thou fount” with the tag that Zach Williams played at Catalyst.  It was powerful.
  • I invited people to come forward to be prayed for following the message.  I got to pray with people who are being delivered from all types of addictions.  One man has been coming for the past 5 weeks and he wept as he told me how God is changing his life.
  • My heart breaks as I hear and pray for many of the families experiencing difficulties right now.  They are keeping a grip on hope.  You know who you are.  You are in my prayers.
  • I spoke to a gentleman who drives 4 hours to be at Lifepoint on the Weekends.  He says that this place has changed his life!
  • Something really amazing happened at Lifepoint following the second service today but I can’t tell you about it yet!
  • I was really caught up and overwhelmed in the worship at Midtown for some reason.  You need to check it out if you haven’t been there yet.
  • We kick off our Christmas Series called, “MeMas: breaking free from me” this Sunday.
  • We announced our Christmas schedule including our special Christmas services on the 23rd and 24th!
  • My marathon is 2 weeks away!  You’d better be praying for me!  I’ll keep you updated.

Have a great week!
