This weekend we kicked off our brand new and rather unique Christmas Series called “MeMas!” What is MeMas you ask? We decided that if Christmas wasn’t going to be about Jesus than lets just change the name and call it what it really is…MeMas. Seriously, if you didn’t know anything about the real meaning of Christmas and parachuted in from a jungle somewhere what conclusion would you come to?
Here is my rundown from the day.
- I was so proud to see our church bringing their angel tree gifts back this Sunday!
- We got to provide gifts for kids in our community, coats for kids in WV, and even presents for kids in Ubauna, Brazil.
- I introduced one more initiative that we are undertaking this Christmas season! We are partnering with Living Water International to provide clean drinking water to people who do not have it. Approximately 1 Billion people do not have access to clean water. 5,000 deaths occur everyday due to unclean water. God has stirred my heart and we are going to do something about it.
- We gave everyone a bottle of water and asked them to place it beside their bed and pray in the morning and evening asking God how they can sacrifice and give so that someone else can have…I can’t wait to see what happens.

- We will receive a special offering during our Christmas Eve Services to dig wells for villages in need.
- I was blown away by the response that came in from people about providing water.
- I spoke out of Luke chapter 1 about Worship. Before there was a baby in a manger we find Mary worshiping.
- Our Worship is toward the Lord.
- Our Worship is personal.
- Our Worship is a response to what God has done.
- Our Worship is a response to what God promises to do.
- I am proud of our Dream Team. We were down quite a bit of members but our team pulled together and got everything accomplished.
- We started giving out our Christmas Eve tickets. We are hosting 3 special Family Christmas Services: Dec. 23rd @ 6:30pm at our Midtown Campus and on Dec. 24th @ 4 & 6pm at Ashley High School.
- TICKETS ARE FREE! Please pick up tickets for your friends, family, co-workers. They are a great way to spread the word and also to help us prepare for the event.
- We have a special Christmas party for our Dream Team this Thursday. Dream Team parties are always a blast. If you don’t serve…you should.
