Legendary Love Pt. 1

Today we kicked off the most epic series of the year…LEGENDARY LOVE!  I have a feeling this is going to be one of the most talked about series of the year.  Here is my thoughts on the day.

  • Believe it or not but we had a blizzard this weekend.  It’s true we had about 4 inches of snow!
  • Due to the snow and ice we cancelled our 9am service.
  • Our 11am service was packed and the energy was flowing.
  • Happy Valentines Day!
  • We are going verse by verse through the Song of Solomon.
  • I had tons of feedback today on the message.
  • We kicked off the service with Kelly Clarkson’s song, “I do not hook up!”
  • Today’s message was called, “The Laws of Attraction.”
  • My main points were:
  1. Find someone with a good name.
  2. Find someone who will love you through your insecurities.
  3. Find someone with a work ethic.
  4. No standards.  No relationship.
  5. Listen to their words.
  • I actually read a poem that I wrote to my wife from Valentines day back in 1996!
  • I shared some of the standards that Michelle and I put in place when we started dating.
  • Today’s message definitely had its moments of intense tension.
  • I can’t wait to continue this series next week!
  • If you missed today’s message you NEED to watch it here on Tuesday.

Wonderful message today. Made me realize how great my man is and how I should thank God every day for His gift to me!

Pastor Jeff, your messages have been instrumental that you are able to speak to my teenage kids on a subject that is hard to approach them. You use the word of God to give them examples of how they should treat themselves and others in their relationships. I hope that I am an example to them by not seeking another woman after their mother. When it is time God will put the right woman in front of me. And I will also take your advise and persue her in a manner that will please God. Thank you Pastor.

Hey Jeff! Ken the Asian here… I just wanted to really thank you for being such an incredible, down-to-earth Pastor. I have a story to tell you… If you’ve been following my tweets, two nights ago I said “For the first time in our lives.. I got to sit down and pray with my mother and start a stronger relationship with her. Praise Jesus :) ” My family has never really had much of a church background and were never really into the church thing. Well this past Sunday was my mother’s second week at church in years and she enjoyed it. Then valentine’s evening, while I was outside my dates house, I spent almost an hour just speaking with her about what God has done my whole life and that I have devoted my Sunday evenings to being the son God has called me to be and follow up with her on what we’ve heard/learned at Lifepoint and walk with her in her first steps with God, hand in hand (figuratively and literally). And I have God to praise for this answered prayer I prayed years ago.. and I thank you for just being a part of the next step in my mothers walk with God. Now she hasn’t accepted Christ into her life quite yet but we pray it will come in God’s timing. But again I just wanted to let you know this and possibly lift your spirit. :) Thanks Jeff… Ohh and BTW, you should listen to on of my personal favorite songs by Jason Mraz “Details in the Fabric”. I believe we could relate one of the lines in the song to your message this past sunday :) OKay… thanks again Jeff! We’ll see you next week! aight.. I’m out.. God Bless… pce

(btw, if there were any awkward parts.. i can always fill u in on the details lol)
