So I’m not the biggest prayer warrior out there. I don’t have hour long prayer sessions. Sometimes I fall asleep while I’m praying. Sometimes I pray selfish prayers. Sometimes I don’t even know what to pray about.
Glad I could get that off my chest.
Can anybody relate?
I’ve been reading an amazing book by John Ortberg called, “The Me I Want To Be” and it has given me a fresh new perspective on growing in my walk with Jesus.
“Children come to their parents with all kinds of requests: wonderful, foolish, generous, and selfish. What matters to parents, however, is that their kid comes to them. They know that they can guide the child’s growth–as long as their child speaks openly with them. It is the hidden heart, not the selfish heart, that is hardest to change.”
P.S. If you can relate to this post, I invite you to join me at 9pm tonight at our Midtown location for a special prayer experience.
I thought I was the only one that sometimes falls asleep while praying! Good to know I’m in good company.
I can’t say you are in “good” company but at least you’re not alone!
